INC. REPORTS SECOND QUARTER 1995
FINANCIAL RESULTS

Massachusetts, July 27, 1995 -- AutoImmune Inc. (Nasdaq: AIMM) today reported
a net loss of $4.7 million, or $.38 per share, for the quarter ended June 30,
1995, compared with a net loss of $3.5 million or $.34 per share, for the same
quarter a year earlier. This brings the net loss for the first six months of
1995 to $8.5 million, or $.71 per share, compared to a net loss of $6.3 million,
or $.61 per share, for the same period in 1994.
Research and development expenses increased to $7.9 million for the first half
of 1995, from $5.8 million in the comparable 1994 period, primarily due to expanding
human clinical development programs for MyloralTM and
ColloralTM.
AutoImmune Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company developing a new class of drug
therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. With highly focused use
of its human and capital resources, the Company has successfully brought four
product candidates based on the principle of oral tolerance into human clinical
testing. These orally administered products are targeted for the treatment of
multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune-mediated diabetes and uveitis.
